Welcome to the Surbiton branch of Georgina Weston Dance Academy; established in April 2020 and the latest of our studio branches. We are proud to offer exciting dance classes in multiple styles from the age of 18 months, up to a Senior Graded Level.
Our principal, Georgina Weston established our Surbiton Academy in April 2020, having successfully run multiple branches across London since 2009. Miss Georgina trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance, gaining a BA(HONS) Ballet Education degree, as well as the Licentiate teaching qualification, allowing students for RAD educational framework, UCAS recognised, Ballet examinations.
As a local mummy of two, Miss Georgina is delighted to offer her trademarked two stage pre-school programme Tiny Footsteps™, for children from 18 months, and Dinky Dancers™ follows on for the year before starting school. We hold syllabus classes in RAD ballet from Pre-Primary up to Grade 6 as well as Funky Jazz for all ages.

An early introduction to ballet repertoire, where you and your little one can enjoy a magical class of imagination, movement and musical development. Aimed towards introducing basic motor skills, within a social setting.
Our ‘Tiny Footsteps’ pre-school programme has been specially created by Miss Georgina, drawing on her own experience of parenthood, welcoming our youngest students to develop their very own ‘Tiny Footsteps’.
A chance for parents / carers to share their child’s first ballet experience, interacting together and capturing those first dancing memories – as well as making friends with others within the class!
Dinky Dancers™, 3 – 4 years:

Our very popular pre-school ballet classes are the perfect preparation for the year before starting primary school.
Classes encourage children to be confident and independent in their movement and musical abilities, trying their ‘pony gallops’, ‘skips’ and other basic motor movements, dancing along with big smiles to engaging musical tracks.
Children’s imaginations are encouraged through magical ballet stories and routines, skipping through ballet steps with ease. The children learn basic ballet steps, an introduction to poise and good posture, but also life long principles and social skills which will serve them well as they approach the school age.

Whether you’re a complete novice with a passion to dance, or if dance has been part of your earlier life and you’d like to dust off those ballet shoes, here is the class for you!
Looking to develop better poise and posture, tone up, increase your
flexibility, energy, coordination & balance and most of all enjoy the feeling of dancing away? Then look no further.
The class introduces the foundations in ballet technique that can be
performed at your own pace, incorporating barre work, centre exercises, and short dance sequences.

Funky Jazz is a dance class incorporating a mix of Jazz and Street Dance.
An energetic class, where the children will be taught dance stretches to help improve their flexibility, as well as kicks, jumps, leaps & turns, establishing the fundamentals of this style of dance.
The students will then put all their learnt steps and styles into fun dance routines set to well known Disney and Musical Theatre tracks to bring the dances to life!
A fun filled, energetic dance class suitable for all.
Funky Jazz can be taken as a stand alone class, or as a class to supplement current Ballet training with us.
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is a worldwide dance organisation which sets the standard for exams in classical ballet and teacher training. The RAD was founded in the UK in the 1920s and is now present in 83 countries globally.
The RAD offers a wide range of examinations and assessments with an aim to motivate and reward students of all ages and ability. The exams are listed on the UK’s Educational framework, therefore allowing students to collect UCAS points for their examinations taken.
The RAD’s focus is on creativity, technique and musicality. The syllabus classes follow a progression with (optional) assessments at all levels. The students will be introduced to classical ballet, free movement and character dancing within the Grade 1-8 syllabus classes.
Pre-Primary (Age 5+) for the reception age student
Primary (Age 6+) for year 1/2 students
Grade 1-Grade 8 (7 years upwards)
Vocational classes (Age 11+) aimed at the student wishing to further their ballet studies.

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance combining singing, dancing and acting.
A fun filled, energetic class where training is provided in all 3 disciplines in order to create a well-rounded, creative performer. The class is comprised of vocal training, dance technique, understanding of stage craft and developing acting skills.
The students will learn songs from various well-known West-End Musicals and create appropriate routines with the help of the teacher to bring their performances to life!
A fun-filled, confidence boosting class suitable for all.
Can be taken as a stand alone class, or as a class to supplement both current Jazz and Ballet training with us.

With their large spacious studios with sprung floor and high ceilings, we feel they are wonderful spaces for our students to safely dance and flourish in.

Introducing Twirling Toes Baby Ballet, a new class for babies aged six months (sitting) to walking, designed to be their first introduction to ballet and movement. With a blend of classical ballet and modern music, this fun, energetic class helps babies develop coordination, balance, and body awareness. Through gentle stretches and playful exercises, babies will explore movement while building motor skills and confidence. For parents or caregivers, Twirling Toes offers a unique bonding experience. The shared movement not only strengthens the parent-child connection but provides a chance to stay active and enjoy quality time together. This joyful class fosters early physical development, music appreciation, and a love for dance—setting the stage for a lifelong love of movement.
